The veterinarian said that he needed to go on a diet and that meant cutting calories.
The poor boy was fat and it wasn’t good for his health, so he needed to drop a few pounds.
Giving him an oil product wasn’t the best choice for him. Hemp oil does contain a high percentage of fat, so we needed better options for Gordon.
Matt and David, having researched hemp very thoroughly, knew that it was the best thing to help him with his current health issues, but that he had to have a form that wouldn’t add to his weight issues.
Hemp CBD Capsules were created for Gordon, with the mindset that he and other dogs needed a diet option that would allow them to take part in all of the benefits of hemp and cannabinoids, helping them to feel better.
Hemp products can help whether they have chronic health issues, are in pain from an injury, or fighting cancer and undergoing treatment for that. Study after study has shown that hemp can do amazing things.
Gordon tolerated the capsules very well and he did lose weight. If you have a pet that simply doesn’t like the flavor of the oils, using the capsules is also a great way to give them their dose without fighting over the taste.
You can often use a capsule inside of a dog treat or add it to a piece of cheese. Of course, if your pet is like Gordon, and using the capsules due to weight management concerns, you’ll need to get good at placing a capsule in the back of their mouth and getting them to swallow. It’s a talent.
Most dogs really enjoy the taste of hemp products, but just like people, their tastes can vary. If you’ve got a picky eater that just doesn’t like it, then the capsules are a perfect alternative that you can hide in something else to get them to take it.
The good news is that Gordon lost weight, was able to take capsules instead of oil and it helped his issues. He had some skin issues that all bulldogs can tend to have and he needed a boost to help his immune system, as dogs do who fight cancer.
When it comes to boosting the immune system, there really isn’t anything that is better than using a full-spectrum hemp product. We’ll explain why and what that is.

It’s important that people know, our co-founders take the time to visit the farms where the hemp is grown. They inspect fields, soil tests that prove the organic status of the land. Both David and Matt feel that consumers have a right to know exactly where their hemp products came from. You should be able to see the third-party test results that show what is in the oil extracted from the hemp.
These tests are done by independent labs that have no stake in the products or the companies that intend to sell the products. Their part is simply to test the samples and then produce reports that show what types of cannabinoids have been found in the sample, as well as whether or not there are any contaminants found in the samples. These could be any heavy metals that are in soil or chemicals that could have found their way into the plants.
How can contaminants find their way into hemp plants from the soil? Hemp plants are known as remediators. That means that they clean the soil they are planted in by pulling contaminants up into their stalks.
Hemp cleans the soil as it grows but this means that if harmful chemicals are in that soil, they will also be in your final product. This is why organically grown hemp is a must and furthermore is the reason that regular visits to the fields are a part of the process at Innovet.
You can hold them accountable because they hold themselves accountable for each and every product. That is why they offer product guarantees and they’ll give you your money back if you aren’t satisfied with any Innovet product. That includes these Hemp CBD Capsules. They know they work because they made a difference in Gordon’s life. If it hadn’t passed the ‘Gordon Test’ it would never have made it to our product list.
How Hemp CBD Capsules Work
In order to fully understand how the capsules work, we need to understand the role that cannabinoids play in the body and why they perform the functions that they do. In order to understand this, we need to have a good working knowledge of how the Endocannabinoid System works and what it does. Have you ever heard of the Endocannabinoid System (ECS)? Did you know that you have one? It appears that all living mammals, birds, fish, and reptiles have one.
What is the ECS?
The ECS oversees several other systems of the body, to ensure that a state of equilibrium is maintained within the body. In regard to the body, this is referred to as a state of homeostasis. If you took a biology class in high school or college, you may potentially remember hearing that term.
The ECS is a body system that was fairly recently been discovered, having been found in 1992. Since those early days that opened doors to mounds of testing and research, it’s been learned that the ECS may very well be the single most important system that works in the body.
Homeostasis is the balance maintained in the body that keeps things balanced, such as electrolytes, temperature, blood pressure, metabolism, and so much more. Think of a car that is in perfect working order. The fluid levels are all maintained properly and the onboard computer system runs constant checks to assure that everything is correct.
That same computer tells you when it is necessary to check your engine, add oil, or add air to your tires. The ECS functions much like an internal computer system in a car because it monitors all body functions and systems to ensure everything is at optimum levels. When they aren’t, help is sent to remedy the situation.
That is exactly where cannabinoids come into play.
The ECS is made of three basic parts.
- CB1 and CB2 receptors are located on the exterior of the cell walls. They are located all over the body with CB1 receptors being primarily found in the brain and neural tissues. The CB2 receptors are located anywhere in the body, with a high concentration in the neural network that includes the spine, as well as being in the gut region of the body.
- Enzymes that are produced by the system that breakdown cannabinoids after they are used, and usher that waste from the cells and help them to exit the body.
- Endocannabinoids are manufactured within the body. These are cannabinoid compounds that are similar to those that are in hemp except that the endocannabinoids are made within the body. Endo literally translated to within. Cannabinoids that come from plants are referred to as phytocannabinoids, with Phyto meaning plant.
This is a good place to remind you that not all cannabinoids are found in hemp. Indeed, cannabinoids can be found in many different types of plants and food sources that humans have been eating for as long as humans have been on earth.
Likewise, not all compounds found in hemp are cannabinoid compounds. Hemp has over 400 compounds but only 112 of these are known cannabinoids. There are thousands of different types of cannabinoids in the plant world and a cannabinoid is characterized by having a particular type of molecular structure.
While some cannabinoids in hemp are also found in other plant species, CBD is only found in hemp or marijuana (cannabis).
When a phytocannabinoid is introduced into the body, it will interact with the ECS in much the same way in which endocannabinoids do. This means that the ECS can be boosted by adding more types of cannabinoids and in higher concentrations. When a phytocannabinoid-rich product, like our Hemp CBD Capsules, is added to the body, a myriad of cannabinoids are unleashed into the body as a team. This is highly beneficial as they all seem to be better at performing specific duties within the body and they also work best as a team. This teamwork is commonly referred to as the entourage effect.
Instead of having one doctor working on your surgery, you may have a team of doctors and nurses who are working with each other to perform procedures with more speed and skill. This is much better than having just one doctor. Think about the PCR product as this sort of a team, working on the behalf of your pet.
Some of the cannabinoids have a molecular structure that is too large to bind directly to a receptor of the ECS. In these cases, they work to influence the ECS in other ways, being referred to as antagonists. They may speed up the process by which the smaller cannabinoids are taken up and processed, or they may slow other systems. They all work in beneficial ways, however.
Why Do Hemp CBD Capsules Work So Well?
Through the distillation process, the raw hemp extract is further refined, where the cannabinoids are separated from the terpenes. We haven’t talked about terpenes yet. These are the compounds in plants that give it the aroma and flavor for which it is known. This process further removes plant matter that is of no use in the final product.
Instead of using raw hemp extract, Innovet uses distilled. Why? Because distilled is the gold standard of the industry. It’s typically reserved for human-grade hemp products but as you may have noticed by now, Innovet treats pets like family and that means treating them like any human member of the family.
These things may include chlorophyll, sugar, and other parts of the plant that will serve no purpose. That means you are getting only essential and necessary ingredients and no filler in your hemp product. Oils that include those other non-essential ingredients are not of superior quality.
Only the best will do for Innovet and for your pet. They understand that your pet is family and only the best is good enough for that family, especially when you feel like they are your children.
They also use phytocannabinoid-rich (PCR) oil instead of just CBD. We’ve already explained why it is so beneficial to have all those other cannabinoids present. Why would you want just a running back when you can have the entire football team working for you?
CBD is surely fantastic on its own, but it has far more benefits when it is taken in concert with the other phytocannabinoids in hemp. Because we know this process better after years of study, it is simply outdated to use a CBD only oil or to even use the term CBD oil. Many companies use the terminology of full-spectrum oil and this is also an acceptable way to refer to PCR oil.
We also know, thanks to science and constant hard work of research, that the terpenes can also play an important role in the entourage effect. In fact, by isolating some of these terpenes and finding out exactly what role they play, it’s been learned that some of them can be very beneficial and added back into oils in the concentrations most beneficial.
Using a PCR oil greatly increases the overall balance of an oil and any product made from that oil. This helps to ensure that doses are regulated more closely, being more accurate for the purposes of tracking the most beneficial amount of product taken for your pet.
This all goes to make certain that your pet is getting the best concentration of beneficial ingredients that are introduced in the most balanced way. This means that your dog is going to get the best possible product, at the right dosage, with the right method of delivery for their specific needs. Anything less would simply not be good enough for Innovet.
The pet product industry isn’t very well-regulated. This bothered both Matt and Dave because they are pet owners who cherish their pet family members. They simply felt that the industry owed it to pet parents to be better at regulating themselves and producing products that exceed expectations every single time.
They took it upon themselves to set higher standards for the industry and then meet and exceed those standards. They wanted to bring real integrity back to the natural pet product market and show customers that they can be trusted with the health of your pets. Why? It’s really very simple. They love pets. They want the best for your pet, just the same as they want the best for their own pets.
You have their promise that your pet is in good hands and that if you don’t like the products for any reason at all, you may return them within 30 days and receive a full refund. That’s how much they believe in what they are making for pets. They’ve seen the benefits themselves. Gordon, Gordo, Penny, Maximus … these are just a few of their own pets that have benefited from many of the products that are now made available to the public.
In every single case, they saw improvement. Maximus lived to be 16 years old and beat cancer twice, thanks to products that contained hemp that he was given to help his pain and boost his immune system.
Individual stories are all over the reviews on their site. Pet owners are raving about the Innovet line of products and now refuse to use anything else for their pets. See what all the fuss is about. You will be glad that you did.
