How to Clean Your Dog’s Ears Safely with PurOtic™
One of the best things about the PurOtic™ system is how simple it is to use. Here’s how to clean dog ears safely and effectively in just a few steps.
- Shake the bottle well: Before each use, give the bottle a good shake to make sure the formula is properly mixed.
- Insert the tip and squeeze the trigger: Gently place the soft silicone tip into your dog’s ear. You don’t need to force it deep into the ear canal. Pull the trigger handle 1 to 3 times to release the solution.
- Massage the base of the ear: This is important. Gently massage the base of your dog’s ear for about 20 to 30 seconds. If you can hear a soft “squishing” sound, you’re doing it perfectly! This helps the solution break up the wax and debris deep inside.
- Let them shake: Step back and let your dog shake their head. This is how they clear all the dislodged gunk out of the ear canal. It can get a little messy, so it’s a good idea to do this in a bathroom or outside.
- (Optional) Follow with the ear dryer: If you’re using the two-step system, wait a minute for your dog to finish shaking, then repeat the process with the PurOtic™ ear dryer to absorb any remaining moisture.
- Wipe the outer ear: Use a cotton ball or a soft wipe to gently clean away any wax or solution from the part of the ear you can easily see.
Note: Never use cotton swabs (like Q-tips) to clean the inside of your dog’s ear canal. They can easily push debris further down, or worse, damage your dog’s sensitive eardrum. Our ear cleaner’s soft tip is designed to be the only tool you need to get the job done safely.

Seems to be working, the only problem I had was with the pump that was broken and didn't work so I had to use another bottle. Luckily I manage to fit the plastic nose into the new bottle and use the product which seems to be working wonderfully.

I’m only giving this 4 stars because we haven’t used it more than a couple of times. We have a young pup who is hyper sensitive about having his ears examined (or mouth, teeth, paws, rear end, etc!). But he has tolerated the silicone tip on this reasonably well. We’ve only used the cleaner, and only one pump’s worth. A couple of pumps on the handle seem like a better “dosage” for him. At this point, I think this may be a brilliant means for getting drops well into dogs’ ears. But I don’t have enough experience yet with the product itself, it terms of how well it cleans or dries ears, to give it a full five star rating. But so far, I’m super happy with this product!
